Comments: New firm takes over Statue of Liberty ferry route today

On a major holiday I recommend that you arrive at Battery Park (if you are leaving from NY) before 10:00 AM. Major holidays can have security lines that take up to two hours. If you don\'t get to the ferry docks until noon, you are not going to be getting to Liberty Island until at least 2:30 PM. This means you will have barely any time to see the Statue of Liberty, and little if any time to see Ellis Island, which is included with the ferry ticket. Boats stop dropping off passengers at Ellis Island at 3:40. SO, my best advice...get to battery park before 10:00 AM, AND buy your \"Monument Pass\" at least a week in advance if traveling on a major holiday (i.e. Christmas, New Years, Fourth of July).
