Comments: Hotel Carter, NY Inn rank among dirtiest hotels in US
I wish I'd read this blog before we went!
we spent one night at hotel Carter. thank God it was just a night!! It is the dirtiest hotel i ever ever seen!!! the location is great, as it's in the heart of Time Square, but i was amazed at how dirty it is!! you'd have thought that there is some Health and Safety law in the USA which would shut such hotels, but obviously not.
The room we stayed in was very small and had great views of brown walls. i'm not too sure now if the windows could open - i know they were so dirty we didn't want to touch them!! there was rubish in there from the last (hopefully!)people who were in there, the bathroom was so full of mould we though it safer we didn't bath at all!! the carpet was so dirty we were afraid to take our shoes off...
It was an awefull awefull experience!! And while we were there we met a couple of girls who'd spent the whole of their first day in New york cleaning up their hotel room!! At that included buying sheets and pillowcases.
and if after all this you decide to take your chances...don't forget to take a towel;-)
