superbowlgiantslogo2012The New York Giants, the winners of Super Bowl XLVI, will get their victory parade Tuesday morning, Feb. 7.

The first details are available from NYC’s 311 service: “In celebration of the Giants Super Bowl victory, the City is holding a Championship Ceremony at City Hall Plaza at 11 AM on Tuesday, Februray 7th, rain or shine. On Monday, February 6th, at 9 AM, you can click, text, or call 311 for your chance to win 2 VIP seats for the ceremony. You can enter if you are 18 or older and live in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut. If you win, you will be contacted and you will have one hour from the time of contact to confirm your attendance. You will need to be available to pick up your tickets from a Manhattan location between 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Monday. You also will be required to show photo identification.”

Update as of 10:50 p.m.: “The parade will begin at Battery Place and Washington Street at 11:00 AM and continue northbound up the Canyon of Heroes to Worth Street,” according to a statement issued by the mayor’s office. “The parade will be followed by a ceremony at City Hall Plaza, at which the Mayor will present the NY Giants with Keys to the City.”

Access to the parade route along the Canyon of Heroes will be entirely free and open to the public.

A limited number of free tickets will be given out to the ceremony at City Hall Plaza, where space is limited. A total of 250 pairs of tickets will be awarded via lottery. The lottery will be open Monday morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tri-state residents over the age of 18 may enter at www.nyc.gov, via a text to 311-862, or a call to 311. “Entrants may only enter once and will be asked to give their name, email address and phone number in order to enter. Winners will be notified beginning at 2 PM and will have to pick up their tickets at a location in Midtown by 8 PM Monday night,” according to the statement from the mayor’s office.

For ticketless fans who want to be near the ceremony, three large screens will be set up around City Hall for members of the public to watch the ceremony.
