'Chinglish' to close on Broadway on Jan. 29
The cross-cultural comedy “Chinglish” will end its Broadway run Jan. 29, producers for the show announced today.
Penned by David Henry Hwang, the play centers on a Midwestern businessman who heads to China hoping to secure contracts making well-translated signs for them. Miscommunication, of course, ensues, along with broader cultural observations about business, life and love. The cast includes Jennifer Lim, Gary Wilmes, Angela Lin, Christine Lin, Stephen Pucci, Johnny Wu and Larry Lei Zhang.
The play received a B+ median grade from the critics following its Oct. 27 opening night, according to the calculations at StageGrade.
Regular tickets are priced from $31.50 to $121.50 with premium tickets priced $176.50 to $276.50.
“Chinglish” plays the Longacre Theatre at 220 W. 48th St.
