Shakespeare in the Park tickets via online lottery

shakespearelogo2011The Shakespeare in the Park free online virtual ticketing returns this season, offering access to performances of “Measure for Measure” and “All’s Well That Ends Well.”

The online lottery opens at midnight the night before each performance, allowing anyone to register up until 1 p.m. Lottery winners will be notified before 5 p.m. (or you can log in to the website to check your status after 1 p.m.) Unclaimed virtual tickets will go to the stand-by line starting at 7 p.m.

Free tickets are also distributed in Central Park at the Delacorte Theater starting at 1 p.m. each day a performance is scheduled.

And on select days, some tickets will be distributed in the boroughs at 1 p.m.: In Brooklyn on June 7 and 17; in Queens on June 13 and June 16; in the Bronx on June 11 and 15; on Staten Island on June 18 and July 5 and at Manhattan locations June 23 and 27.

To skip the lines completely, you can make a tax-deductible donation of at least $350 and become a Summer Supporter of the Public Theater, which entitles a donor to two reserved seats at a performance.

This season’s Shakespeare plays will run in repertory from June 6 through July 30 with the same actors appearing in both shows. The cast includes John Cullum, Annie Parisse, Lorenzo Pisoni, Danai Gurira, Michael Hayden, André Holland, Dakin Matthews, Tonya Pinkins and Roger Yeh.

Daniel Sullivan directs “All’s Well That Ends Well” and David Esbjornson stages “Measure for Measure.”

The Shakespeare in the Park rain policy states that “no performance will be cancelled before 8 p.m.,” which is the start time for all performances.
