Empire State lighting in June: Pride Week, Flag Day, U.N.
The top tiers of the Empire State Building this month will light up for NYC Pride Week, World Refugee Day, Flag Day and a number of other events, according to the skyscraper’s official lighting schedule.
The top tiers return to all white lights on regular nights.
The June 2011 Empire State Building lighting schedule (subject to change):
June 1 - split lighting for New York Mets’ Teammates in the Community Week: red, white and blue on the north and south sides; blue, orange and blue on the east and west sides
June 3 through 5 - blue, white and blue for the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York, 63rd Annual Celebrate Israel Parade
June 7 - green, white and green for the NY Racing Association and the Belmont Stakes
June 8 - purple, blue and white for National Marine Sanctuary Foundation and the United Nations World Oceans Day
June 9 - green for Robin Hood and Black Eyed Peas and Friends Concert 4 NYC
June 10 through 12 - blue, green and yellow for the Caribbean Tourism Organization and Caribbean Week
June 14 - red, white and blue for Flag Day
June 20 - blue in honor of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and World Refugee Day
June 24 through 26 - rainbow colors for NYC Pride Week: red, orange and yellow on the north and south sides; purple, blue and green on the east and west sides
Update as of June 24: Here’s the file image of the Empire State Building in rainbow colors as provided to NewYorkology on June 23 by the Edelman PR firm, which handles corporate communications for the skyscraper’s owners. Fog is actually obscuring the building tonight.

June 30 - red, white and white in honor of Canada Day
