'Mormon' $32 lottery drawing held prior to each show
Tickets for Broadway’s “The Book of Mormon” just got a lot harder to acquire now that the excellent reviews are touting the show by the creators of “South Park” and “Avenue Q.”
Likewise, expect increased competition at the daily “Book of Mormon” ticket lottery.
This is how it works, according to the musical’s official website:
A limited number of tickets for each performance will be sold through the lottery. Entries will be accepted at the box office beginning two and a half hours prior to each performance for up to two tickets.
Two hours before curtain, names will be drawn at random for a limited number of tickets priced at $32 each. Only one entry is allowed per person. Cards are checked for duplication prior to drawing. Winners must be present at the time of the drawing and show valid ID to purchase tickets. Limit one entry per person and two tickets per winner. Tickets may be purchased in cash or with a valid credit card. …
The Eugene O’Neill Theatre and box office is located at 230 W. 49th St., map, between Broadway and 8th Avenue. Regular tickets are priced $69 to $152 with premium and aisle seats for $137 to $299.
The performance schedule, which is subject to further changes, is currently Monday through Saturday at 8 p.m. with a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m.
Beginning March 28, the schedule changes to Tuesday through Thursday at 7 p.m.; Friday at 8 p.m.; Saturday at 2 p.m.; and Sunday at 2 and 7 p.m.
Beginning May 30 the show will go on Tuesday through Thursday at 7 p.m.; Friday at 3 and 8 p.m.; Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m.; and Sunday at 3 p.m.
