Free Friday night horror flicks on NYC Parks' rooftop

Distraught you missed the free downtown rooftop film noir series? No worries, as the same wicked mind (one presumes) at the NYC Parks Department, has opened The Vault of Horror Flicks for August.

The free Friday night rooftop screenings start tonight with “Invasion of the Body Snatchers.” The 1956 version, of course.

“Night of the Living Dead” will screen Aug. 20, followed by “Rosemary’s Baby” on Aug. 27.

All movies will play on the roof of Manhattan’s Tony Dapolito Recreation Center, or indoors in case of rain. Screenings begin at 8:30 p.m. To RSVP, call (212) 408-0296 or email artsculturefun@parks.nyc.gov.

The recreation center is located at 3 Clarkson Street, a few blocks north of Houston and Varick streets.
