Free movies on Intrepid's flight deck: 'Top Gun' to 'Rocky'
The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum this summer will double its free Summer Movie Series by screening six films on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier, starting with “Top Gun” this Friday.
For the sunset screenings, you can bring your own lawn chairs, picnic baskets and blankets. You can bring food and beverages but no alcohol. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. with the movies set to begin at sunset. Be advised that at least one of last year’s screenings hit capacity and people were turned away.
All screenings are on Friday nights, except for Saturday, June 19.
The Intrepid Summer Movie Series schedule for 2010:
May 28 - “Top Gun”
June 19 - “Field of Dreams”
July 9 - “Ghostbusters”
July 23 - “The Goonies”
Aug. 6 - “Raiders of the Lost Ark”
Aug. 20 - “Rocky”
Addition: Aug. 27 - “Ironman”
