NYC hotel deals under $200 for December and January
While the worst of the recession may be in the past, rates for New York City hotel rooms aren’t yet on the rise. A wide range of properties are offering rooms under $200, even on peak holiday dates. A roundup:
To mark its 80th birthday — Jan. 2, 2010 — The New Yorker Hotel will offer rooms in January for $80 for the first night and a 20-percent discount on the second-night (with a two-night minimum.) To get the $80 rate, call the hotel at (800) 764-4680 and mention “80th birthday of the hotel.”
This week, the new Hotel Indigo in Chelsea has rooms from $199.
Tablet’s Last Minute Deals for NYC today include Gild Hall from $149, the Mansfield from $179, the Shoreham from $189 and even the semi-private Soho House from $245.
Quikbook’s NY sale offers rooms for this weekend including the Smyth for $176, Park South Hotel for $160, and the Hotel Reserve for $184.
The Portland Square Hotel (which is still undergoing renovations to become the Sanctuary hotel) has a winter-rate special from $109.
Midtown’s Budget Core Hotels has rooms this weekend from $141.
The Hudson features a number of packages under $200 featuring the likes of free parking or complimentry cocktails.
In Brooklyn, the Hotel Le Jolie in Williamsburg currently has rooms from $155.
Ace Hotel rooms start at $149 in December (cheaper for a bunk bed.)
Rooms at the Ameritania on 54th and Broadway start at $104.
The Flatotel near Rockefeller Center is offering a Winter Hotel Getaway rate from $189.
On the Upper West Side, the Beacon Hotel discounts include its $195 rate for Sundays and Mondays.
In Chinatown, the Best Western Bowery Hanbee Hotel has plenty of rooms at $139 except right around New Year’s.
The Jane in the West Village is still offering rooms for $99 (with a shared bathroom down the hall.)
The Pod Hotel has rooms for this weekend from $109 (or as low as $75 for a shared bathroom.)
While the Abingdon Guest House has a room under $200, it’s booked until January.
TravelZoo deals for select dates through winter inlcude The Algonquin from $139 and Millennium Broadway from $159.
The EuroCheapo booking website lists a number of hotels under $200, including the Hotel Edison from $180; the Ameritania from $125 and Hotel 31 from $105.
