rockettesholidayshow.jpgThe big-ticket holiday shows step off with the Rockettes and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, which runs through Dec. 30. It’s among the shows you can see Christmas Day. Tickets range from $45 to $250.

Cirque du Soleil’s snow-themed family-friendly musical acrobatic show “Wintuk” is in residence at Madison Square Garden through Jan. 3. Tickets range from $40 to $220.

New York City Ballet dances the traditional George Balanchine’s “The Nutcracker” at Lincoln Center through Dec. 30. Prices range from $20 to $215.

For the less traditional, the NY Post lists the different versions around town of “The Nutcracker” from $6 to $215. The list, which of course includes non-family versions of the dance, is trickled out in an unfortunate 10-part slideshow.

The Met Opera’s holiday family offering this year is an English-language performance of “Hansel and Gretel” composed by Engelbert Humperdinck. Performances run through Jan. 2 with tickets in the $20 to $150 range.

Although the Grinch bypassed NYC this season, Broadway is again hosting the tourist-friendly “ Irving Berlin’s White Christmas” through Jan. 3. Tickets cost $65 to $145.

Handel’s “Messiah” comes in several shapes and sizes. The New York Philhramonic will play the holiday classic five times Dec. 15 through 19 with tickets from $31 to $109.

Carnegie Hall’s Messiahs will come by way of the Oratorio Society of New York on Dec. 14 with tickets from $20 to $75; and Dec 22 from the Musica Sacra Chorus and Orchestra with tickets starting at $12.50.

In addition, there are several holiday-themed concerts through December, including Christine Ebersole at Birdland from Dec, 2-5; Vienna Boys Choir at Carnegie Hall on Dec. 6; Paul Winter’s 30th Annual Winter Solstice Celebration at The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine from Dec. 17 through 19; the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus at Town Hall on Dec. 20; multiple Christmas concerts at the Met Museum; and the Michael Feinstein & David Hyde Pierce Holiday Show at Feinstein’s at Loews Regency nearly nightly through Dec. 30.
