'39 Steps' comedy/thriller to close on Broadway Jan. 10

The comedy noir thriller “The 39 Steps” will end its Broadway run Jan. 10.

39stepsonbwaywallpaper.jpgThe play, which stars only four actors, nods to Alfred Hitchcock’s 1935 film of the same name, the book by John Buchan, with an original concept by Simon Corble and Nobby Dimon.

It’s the longest-running play of any Broadway show that opened in the past seven years, according to the New York Times. It’s been on Broadway since Jan. 4, 2008, according to Playbill.

Regular tickets are priced from $114 but are routinely available for less through TKTS, Broadway Box and other outlets. Student rush tickets are $26.50 at the Helen Hayes Theatre box office, located at 240 W. 44th St., map.
