Nantucket is Manhattan's floating hotel on the Hudson

This is a big year for the Hudson River. It hosted the landing of US Air Flight 1549, it’s celebrating its 400th anniversary since it was discovered by Henry Hudson, it will get the big 4th of July Fireworks show, and it turns out, it even has its own floating hotel.
The Nantucket Lightship, which is docked downtown in the North Cove Marina behind the World Financial Center, has been completely refitted and renovated and features five upscale staterooms.
The price is $395 per night, breakfast included with a check-in and check-out time of 11 a.m. The Nantucket specializes in corporate and private events, but individuals can also book a room on the ship.
“Prior to 2000, the ship was used by the United States Coast Guard as a floating lighthouse 40 miles east of Nantucket Island in an area known as Nantucket Shoal,” Luke Webster, the business manager and director of operations of the Nantucket Lightship, told NewYorkology.
“This area was at the convergence of trans-Atlantic shipping lanes and made this ship a very visible and important piece of American history,” he said. “Although the Statue of Liberty was the official welcome to European travelers to the states in the age of liners, the Nantucket Lightship was the first welcome and known to many as the ‘Beacon of Hope’ or the ‘Guardian Angel of the North Atlantic.’”
The ship has been in NYC since October.
Update: The Lightship is in Manhattan until May 30, and will spend the summer chartering in Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. The Nantucket will return to New York City on Oct. 1.
