Ferrari injures two as Times Sq movie shoot goes awry
At least one bystander was injured this morning when a Ferrari smashed into the Times Square Sbarro restaurant as part of a movie shoot, according to the Post.
The scene is intended for the movie “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” with Nicolas Cage, according to “no parking” signs posted at the scene, the Associated Press reports.
The Post, which has a picture of the crashed vehicle, talked to witnesses who saw the crash around 1 a.m.: “The Ferrari took a sharp right to the left and lost it, swerving across the lanes, taking out a lamppost and a news stand. One lady was knocked to the ground and a lamppost landed directly on top of a chap.”
The Post said it was unclear whether the second injured person was affiliated with the movie.
The movie has been filming at several locations throughout New York City, including in Chinatown, where the streets were adorned with red lanterns.
There are a number of webcams in Times Square, though some are offline this morning or showing archived images.
Sbarro is located at 47th Street and Seventh Avenue, map.
