Town Hall sets Free for All classical concert dates
Town Hall’s annual Free for All concert series will again deliver classical music in Midtown for no money at all.
All 1,500 tickets to the three free concerts will be given away starting at noon on the day of each show at the Town Hall box office, located at 123 W. 43rd St., between 6th Avenue and Broadway.
The performers and dates:
Sunday, May 31 at 5 p.m. - Anne-Marie McDermott on piano
The program will include a grouping of Haydn Sonatas, the world premiere of a piano sonata by Charles Wuorinen, and the U.S. premiere of Clarice Assad’s “When Art Showed Up.”
Sunday, June 14 at 2 p.m. - Hilary Hahn on violin, with Valentina Lisitsa, piano
The program will include violin sonatas by Ysaÿe and Ives, Brahms’ Hungarian Dances, and Bartók’s Romanian Folk Dances.
Sunday, June 21 at 5 p.m. - Emerson String Quartet
All Schubert program.
