Petit to make Midtown Manhattan high-wire walk in fall

Philippe Petit, the man in “Man on Wire,” will again hang his wire somewhere in Manhattan for another walk in the sky, the New York Times reports.
The tease:Mr. Petit says he will perform a high-wire walk in the fall in Midtown Manhattan. It will be high, it will be long, and it will be outdoors in a very recognizable location that he does not want revealed quite yet — arrangements are not final. The paper points out that in addition to his famous 1974 walks between the World Trade Center towers, Petit in 1980 walked a wire across the nave of the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, where he is the artist-in-residence and chandelier light bulb changer.
So where might the Midtown wire walk take place?
The pair of 80-story towers of the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle comes to mind. There are taller buildings of course, including the Empire State Building (pictured, top left) and the Bank of America tower (top right.)

“Man on Wire,” the Academy Award-winning documentary about his WTC walk, will be screened this Wednesday at St. John, with Petit on hand to answer questions.
