Circle Line to host '40's carnival to welcome new ferries

(Update: Despite the April 16 press release stating the carnival will be a “free-of-charge event” there is now a $1 entry fee per person. The headline and text below have been modified to reflect the change.)
Queens is coming to Manhattan.
Later this month, Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises will take delivery of a new 600-passenger ferry boat named Queens. She’ll join the Manhattan, which joined the fleet in September.
In June, Brooklyn arrives.
To welcome the two new boats, Circle Line will host a 1940’s-style carnival on Manhattan’s Pier 81 on Saturday, June 20, complete with a barbecue, merry-go-round and free cruises to the Statue of Liberty.
The new vessels will replace the Circle Line XI and Circle Line XV, which have been in service for Circle Line for more than six decades.
