Getting Letterman tickets, U2 in residence all this week

lateshowfreetickets.jpg

Who knew it would be so easy to get Letterman tickets this week?

On Sunday afternoon, “Late Night” staff at the box office were taking names for the ticket lottery, allowing people to sign up for any date in March.

NewYorkology signed up, and about a two hours later, the cell phone rang with confirmation details for today’s 4:30 p.m. taping.

Oh, and you should know: “Rock Superstars U2 To Perform an Unprecedented Five Consecutive Nights on the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN.”

There are two tapings today, then one a day through Thursday.

Tickets are free and there are a number of ways to get them, including a stand-by phone line that opens at 11 a.m.

Follow NewYorkology on Twitter for updates.
