Historical Society debuts Underground Railroad podcast

grantlee.jpgThe New-York Historical Society has launched a new video podcast tour about the Underground Railroad during the time of the Civil War as part of its “Grant and Lee in War and Peace” exhibition.

The tour, available on online, at the museum or via iTunes, offers a broad overview of how slavery and the Underground railroad influenced national politics.
The podcast, titled “Run for Your Life” was developed with grant funds from the U.S. Department of Education Underground Railroad Educational and Cultural Program.

The museum also houses a collection of Underground Railroad items including an antislavery token and paintings of Dred Scott and John Brown.
