Free NYC stuff on Twitter, and follow suggestions
What’s Twitter good for? You should ask the people who got free tickets to “Shrek” on Broadway this afternoon.
@TDFNYC, the official Twitter feed for the Theatre Development Fund (the TKTS people) around lunchtime tweeted “We seriously have free tickets to Shrek today @ 2pm. Limited seating. Reply if you’re interested.”
Granted it was short-notice and single seats, but yes, free.
Later this afternoon, TDF told NewYorkology (via Twitter of course,) “It was an emergency situation with a very positive outcome. It may arise again.”
Other recent NYC freebies and discounts on Twitter have included free drinks via @Kambri and a 25 percent discount code from @DylansCandyBar. And @MCC Theater promises a giveaway of two VIP tickets to its upcoming production of “Coraline.”
