$25 front-row seats for 'Next to Normal' on Broadway

nexttonormalpreview.jpgWhen the new Broadway musical “Next to Normal” begins previews Friday, it will become the latest show to offer deeply discounted front-row seats.

A limited number of $25 front-row and box tickets will be sold for every performance at the Booth Theatre box office, located at 222 W. 45th St., map.

The rush tickets, which are available to all patrons, will go on sale for each day’s performances at 10 a.m. (and noon on Sundays.)

There is a limit of two tickets per person on the rush seats.

Regular tickets are priced from $36.50 to $115.00 with premium seats selling for $176.50 and $201.50.

Other Broadway shows with cheap tickets include $26.50 front-row seats for “West Side Story,” $25 box seats for “Hair,” and $26.50 seats at “Rock of Ages.”

Producers describe “Next to Normal” as “a contemporary musical that explores how one suburban household copes with crisis. With provocative lyrics and an electrifying score of more than 30 original songs, ‘Next to Normal’ shows how far two parents will go to keep themselves sane and their family’s world intact.”

“Next to Normal” last year played Off-Broadway’s Second Stage Theatre and won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Score and nominations from the Drama League, Drama Desk Award and Lucille Lortels. The production was then significantly reworked and staged at Washington D.C.’s Arena Stage.

It now returns to New York starring Alice Ripley, J. Robert Spencer, Aaron Tveit, Jennifer Damiano, Adam Chanler-Berat, and Louis Hobson. It’s directed by Michael Greif with music by Tom Kitt, and book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey.

The musical’s opening night is set for April 15.
