Westin Jersey City opens with rooms from $139

Technically, it’s not New York, but just across the Hudson River, the The Westin Jersey City Newport opened its doors last week.

When it debuted January 27, 320 rooms were complete, with the remaining still under construction, according to hotel representatives. When complete, it will offer 429 guest rooms. Rooms are available form $139 per night.

The hotel is a block from the Pavonia/Newport PATH train station and close to NY Waterway ferry, which also offers access to Manhattan.

The new Westin is located at 479 Washington Boulevard in Jersey City, map.

Back in New York proper, HotelChatter has word of a new hoped-for opening date — tomorrow.
