Smyth Tribeca now open with rooms from $159

After many delays, Thompson Hotels’ Smyth Tribeca is now open for business with rooms from $159, a call to the hotel confirmed this morning.

The $159 soft-opening rate is expected to rise soon. However, a reservation through Quikbook is also offering the hotel from $136 per night.

Rooms feature bath products by Kiehl’s, snacks by Dean & Deluca and Zabar’s, Sferra linens, flat-screen TVs and iPod docking station. Wi-fi is available to guests in-room and in the public spaces for $10 for 24 hours. There is a fitness center on the premises, and the lobby bar will open at the end of this week. (And yes, they’ve already secured a liquor license, a hotel representative told NewYorkology.)

About 70 rooms are complete, with all but two floors of the hotel open for guests. Major construction is finished even on those floors, as only interior decorating remains there.

Construction is still underway in the basement, where the hotel’s restaurant is scheduled to open in late spring.

The Smyth Tribeca is located at 85 W. Broadway, map.

Earlier: Smyth Tribeca to open Jan. 6 with rooms from $205
