New shopping: Droog in NY, Footlight Records returns
The Amsterdam-based Droog Design, which had its own show at the Museum of Art and Design a few years ago, will open its own New York City store on February 25, according to its website.
Droog will open in SoHo at 76 Greene St. between Spring and Broome, map.
Footlight Records, which went out of business in December, has reopened after it was purchased by Bruce Yeko and Original Cast Records.
Architectural salvagers Olde Good Things have put many items on sale for 20- to 50-percent off in advance of their move to a new, as-yet-unnamed location in New York. “We’re still settling our new NY store so stay posted for our new address,” store owners said in a Monday e-mail. For now, they’re still located at 124 W. 24th St.
The Barneys Warehouse Sale starts Thursday and continues through March 1. See shopping tips from the Post and Choosy Beggar (via Racked.) Also be warned that in the past, they’ve made shoppers check any bag or purse taller or wider than a sheet of typing paper.
The fabulous Bryant Park webcam has been offline for awhile, making it harder to get even a glimpse outside the tents for Fashion Week. (However, you can still buy your way into the tents with W Hotels Catwalk package or the American Express Exclusive Cardmember-Only Diane von Furstenberg Fashion Show.)
