Le Cirque (more?) to extend Restaurant Week thru Feb.
Le Cirque has extended Restaurant Week through the entire month of February, and other restaurants are likely to do the same, Crain’s reports.
Restaurant Week kicked off Sunday and is scheduled to run through January 30 (skipping Saturday, January 24.)
During the promotion, diners can get three-course prix-fixe lunches for $24.07 at lunch and $35 for dinner at more than 250 restaurants in the city, including Telepan, Gramercy Tavern, Tabla, Del Posto, Nobu, Perry Street, Shun Lee Palace, Bar Boulud, Country and The Modern. Drinks, tax and tip are not included in the price.
Tracy Nieporent, the chairman of the restaurant committee for NYC & Co., told Crain’s that as the organizer of the event, his group will send out a note to participating restaurants to let them know Restaurant Week may extend through February.
And although LeCirque said it booked up its two-week allotment within a day, the OpenTable.com booking engine shows more than 100 restaurants have spots open even for lunch today - a holiday Monday no less.
While NYC & Co’s official Restaurant Week site appears to have crashed this morning, OpenTable is fine and lists almost all of the participating restaurants.)
