Ferrell website launches; HBO to air 'You're Welcome'
Just as the official website has gone live for Will Ferrell’s “You’re Welcome America. A Final Night With George W Bush” word comes from Variety that HBO will air a live telecast of the Broadway comedy this winter.
The one-man show will begin previews at the Cort Theatre on January 20, Inauguration Day. Opening night is set for February 5. HBO supposes the HBO special will air toward the end of the run, which is scheduled to conclude March 15.
As for the websites, it’s barebones at this point, offering just a snippet of what’s in store:It’s time for a change in America, but not without a few parting words from the 43rd President of the United States. Don’t miss your chance to discover the man behind the myth, the truth behind the lies, and the logic behind the illogical in the outrageous limited Broadway event.
The lone picture on the site is Ferrell in character as Bush, with a stack of books on the floor at his feet: “The Art of War,” “See Spot Run,” “Yachting for Beginners” and yes, a September 11 joke, “My Pet Goat.”
Tickets are already on sale for American Express cardholders. Tickets go on sale for the general public on December 21.Regular tickets will be priced from $56.50 to $116.50. Premium seat will range from $251.50 to $301.50. When a performance is sold out, standing room tickets will be sold for $29.50 at the Cort box office, located at 138 W. 48th St., map.
