The Standard to open Dec. 10 with rooms from $195
The Standard Hotel officially goes into preview mode next week with rooms from $195, according to an e-mail sent from the hotel’s “New York Team.”
An Andre Balzas hotel, The Standard straddles the old High Line rail line that’s being turned into a public park. It’s located at 848 Washington Street, where the Meat packing District meets the Hudson River.
The e-mail:
The Standard, New York is opening its doors to a select group of friends and family on December 10th, 2008. We are opening a handful of rooms in the midst of an otherwise busy construction site, at rates starting at $195. The price includes complimentary Continental breakfast, complimentary Wi-Fi and local calls, 24 hour concierge service and use of our lobby.
Room service will be available in early 2009. In the interim, guests will receive an in-room binder consisting of our favorite local restaurants which will provide delivery service.
As the hotel is still undergoing construction, these preview rates will be available until February 09. To make your booking, simply call the reservations team at 212 784.5530 or email us at nyreservations@standardhotel.com.
For the past few weeks, the floor-to-ceiling curtains have been pulled closed in all the rooms on the the bottom seven floors, while construction equipment is clearly visible in the top levels.
