Empire State Building lights get in Election Week action

esballred.jpgIn case you hadn’t noticed, the Empire State Building would like you to know there will be an election this week.

Tonight, the city’s tallest skyscraper will go red, white and blue as a “reminder to Vote for 2008 Presidential Election” according to the building’s online color guide.

On Tuesday night, as the votes are tallied nationwide, the north and south side of the tower will go blue while the east and west will blush red.

And assuming there’s no recount brouhaha, Wednesday night’s colors will decalre the winner: blue for Obama or red for McCain.

By Thursday, the Empire State Building will go back to red, white and blue, in a celebration of non-partisan democracy. Or something like that.

Picture source: The Empire State Building recently was all red for Macy’s 150th Anniversary - but it could do it again this week if the Republicans get their way.
