Business-class price cuts at LimoLiner, OpenSkies
Two business-class-type travel deals just landed today. You decide whether it has anything to do with coincidence or the economy.
First, LimoLiner, the business-class bus between New York and Boston, is offering a $49 one-way fare, which totals to an $80 savings on a round trip ticket.
The $49 rates are good through January 31, a two-week advance purchase is required, and LimoLiner cautions “capacity at this fare is limited and there are some restrictions.”
Keep in mind that gets you free onboard wi-fi, satellite TV and radio, free snacks and drinks served by an attendant, reclining leather-seats, sockets and plugs at every seat, cell-phone signals and coming soon … free fresh-squeezed orange juice on morning buses and free wine on evening buses.
At a higher elevation, British Airways’ mostly business-class airline, OpenSkies, is also cutting prices out of New York. Starting today, business class tickets to Amsterdam on their reconfigured planes will start at $1,050 while the Paris route will start at $1,100. The PREM+ fares (still better than a typical economy-class ticket on another airline,) will start at $550 one way for New York-Amsterdam and $600 one way for New York-Paris. The fares will be available until November 21, and of course restrictions apply.
