'Spring Awakening' to end it all on Broadway on Jan. 18

Spring Awakening,” the provocative pop musical about tragic teen angst, will close on Broadway on January18, Broadway World reports.

The musical, which is Duncan Sheik’s and Stephen Sater’s adaption of Frank Wedekind’s 1891 play, won eight Tony Awards in 2007, including Best Musical.

By the time it closes, “Spring Awakening” will have played 859 performances plus 29 previews.

The show has a number of non-traditional ticketing options, including $40 digital rush seats, on-stage seats for $40, as well as $27 student tickets and $27 for standing-room. Regular seats are priced at $66 to $145. Premium seats are $177 and 252.
