Ferrell to bring Bush to Broadway in 'You're Welcome'

As rumored, Will Ferrell will indeed head to Broadway to star in a one-man show.

“You’re Welcome America. A Final Night with George W. Bush,” will begin previews at Broadway’s Cort Theater on Inauguration Day, January 20, according to the New York Times.

Opening night is set for February 1. The last night: March 15.

The show will be produced by Adam McKay, who served as writer-director for Ferrell’s “Step Brothers,” “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” and “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” Variety reports.

The Cort Theater is currently home to “The 39 Steps,” which will relocate to the Helen Hayes after the departure of the holiday-only “Slava’s Snowshow,” according to theater blog What’s Good/What Blows in NY Theatre. The Cort is located at 138 W. 48th Street, map.
