Broadway's 'Spamalot' not yet dead, to close Jan. 18
Update: The “Spamalot” closing date has been moved forward to January 11.
Eric Idle’s “Spamalot” will end its three-year Broadway run on January 18.
The musical comedy based on the 1975 “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” movie won the 2005 Tony Award for best musical. When it closes, it will have played 1,582 regular performances plus 35 previews, according to Playbill.
Clay Aiken, who has been portraying Sir Robin since mid-September, will remain in the role only until January 4, according to the New York Times.
“Spamalot” plays the Shubert Theatre, located at 225 W. 44th St. Regular tickets are priced from $36.50 to $121.50. Premium seats are priced from $176.50 to $251.50. If a performance is sold out, the box office will sell standing room tickets for $21.50.
