Weekend on tap: Battle of Brooklyn, Charlie Parker jazz
With the end of summer just around the corner, New York City this weekend packs in one more Summer Streets event on Saturday, as well as a full contingent of Battle of Brooklyn commemorations – from Governors Island to Green-Wood Cemetery.
On Saturday, catch the Fort Greene Park Literary Festival, or Ashanti at the J&R MusicFest.
The free Charlie Parker Jazz Festival runs all weekend, the Mets host the Astros at Shea and the warm up to the US Open begins with Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
