Screening of the documentary “Home” at 6:30 p.m. at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum with a Q&A with filmmaker Dawn Scibilia and journalist Pete Hamill (free with rsvp)

Free screening of “Strangers on a Train” at Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield for Central Park Conservancy Film Festival

World Beat/AfroPop Dancing on the Plaza, Central Park

“Being There” screens for free at dusk at Movies With a View next to the Brooklyn Bridge

NY Botanical Garden stays open late (until 8 p.m.) for Evenings at the Garden with live music, food and cocktails

The New Museum has free admission from 7 to 10 p.m. today and the China Institute Gallery is free from 6 to 8 p.m.

Several other museums are open until 8 p.m. tonight: the Jewish Museum, the National Museum of the American Indian, the Paley Center for Media, the Museum of Biblical Art and the China Institute Gallery.
