Free weekly walking tours in New York City

Among the free walking tours offered in New York City, there are a handful you can count on catching the same day every week. Most are organized by business improvement districts but led by certified guides.

And keep in mind that even with free tours, tips are likely appreciated.

Monday
Central Park Summer Tours at 11 a.m., 12:15 and 3 p.m. until August 15 (NYC Urban Park Rangers)

Tuesday

Wednesday
Governors Island tours at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. until Aug. 28 (National Park Service)
Grand Central Terminal 12:30 – free, but suggested donation of $10 (Municipal Art Society)
