Ted Leo, Sonic Youth to play free River to River '08
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Sonic Youth, The Feelies, St. Vincent, and Akron/Family are among the acts thus far signed on for this summer's free River To River Festival, which will run from May 28 through mid-September at downtown venues including Battery Park, the World Financial Center, South Street Seaport and Castle Clinton National Monument.
The full River to River 2008 calendar will go live online May 1.
All events are free, though a handful will require (free) tickets to get in, including the July 4th Sonic Youth afternoon show at in Battery Park.

She Wolves from the Tiber to the Hudson
Wednesday, May 28, 9 p.m.
South Cove, Battery Park City, Hudson River at South End Avenue
The first of three immersive events whose fusion of water, sound and light will bring the mythic She-Wolf to life and transform outdoor river spaces with site-specific animations and music.

Returning to the Winter Garden for a third year, the Bang on a Can Marathon has redefined what contemporary music is, how it is performed and where it is presented.
