'August,' 'November' among Drama League nominees
The Drama League today announced their annual award nominees, recognizing the year's best theater both on Broadway and Off-Broadway.
The nominees for most distinguished production of a play are "August: Osage County," by Tracy Letts; "Eurydice" by Sarah Ruhl; "The Farnsworth Invention," by Aaron Sorkin; "November," by David Mamet; "Rock āNā Roll," by Tom Stoppard; "The Seafarer," by Conor McPherson; "Thurgood," by George Stevens; "The 39 Steps," adapted by Patrick Barlow, based on a concept by Simon Corble, Nobby Dimon and the novel by John Buchan;
Winners will be announced May 16.

On Monday, the Outer Critics Circle also announced their nominees for the year. "Young Frankenstein," grabbed 10 nominations, "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" garnered nine and "South Pacific" received eight. See the Outer Critics website for the full list of nominees. Winners will be announced May 12th.
Several other theater award nominations have not yet been announced, including the Tony Awards. The Tony nominees will be read May 13 with the award ceremony scheduled for June 15.
