Guggenheim Sex: David Bouley, Dr. Ruth, Cai Guo-Qiang
If you're in the weird-is-good camp, please make note of this upcoming public program at the Guggenheim Museum: Food, Sex, and Art
Fri, Apr 4 @ 6:30 p.m.
For Cai Guo-Qiang, an exhibition is far more than a fixed assembly of objects; it is a live event that exists as a constantly evolving process in time and space. Objects activate social interactions and propel astonishing flashes of insight. Every aspect of the exhibition’s preparation, installation, catalogue, and public programs thus reveal themselves as one piece of his larger ecosystem. This approach has inspired Cai to host this discussion about food, sex, and art.
Participants: David Bouley, restauranteur; Cai Guo-Qiang, artist; Dr. Ruth Westheimer, sex therapist
$10 ($7 members, students, and seniors) Cai's "I Want to Believe" exhibition is currently on display at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum through May 28.
The museum is located at 1071 Fifth Ave., map.
