More NY: harbor seal returns, Morrison Hotel opens

More reasons to worry about taking pictures in NYC (City Room via Curbed)
He answered, “Breaking cameras is illegal, too, but if you don’t stop taking pictures, I’ll break your camera.” He modified “camera” with an adjective I am not permitted to repeat here. I identified myself as a reporter from The Times. “I’ll break your camera,” he said, using that adjective again, “and you can print that in your paper.” I distinctly remember thinking, “No, I can’t.”
Morrison Hotel moves into old CBGB Gallery space (Brooklyn Vegan)
While the interior of the 313 Bowery space will change with each show, the Morrison plans to maintain many original elements of the CBGB's Gallery, including the bathroom graffiti, an original wall logo stencil and a panel of show posters and hand-bills from CBGB's 10th anniversary that were buried in an inner wall.

$200,000 fatality payout after newbie cabbie jumps curb (Gothamist)

More Hudson River harbor seal pictures (Urban Hawks)

Gleason's still Gleason's (Jeremiah's Vanishing NY)
Thankfully, not much has changed inside the old gym. Once the door closes behind you, you can imagine you're still on a former Front Street. Aside from a few young women in hot-pink gloves and a few middle-aged men with white-collar faces, the room is filled with boxers, serious and sweating. Champions and contenders still train at Gleason's.
