Weekend on Tap: Modern Show, King Kong, The Plaza
The Plaza, now 100 years old, finally reopens as a hotel this weekend, but unless you've got upwards of $700 a night, you may want to redirect your attention to something slightly younger. Like Sunday's 75th anniversary of "King Kong," which will be screened at Film Forum along with a Fay Wray Scream-Alike Contest.
Also this weekend, there's the The Modern Show and a number of free museum events. The parks department is also offering a pair of seldom-scheduled tours: the The Little Red Lighthouse on Saturday and the Highbridge Water Tower on Sunday.
For more upcoming and ongoing events in NYC, see NewYorkology’s March calendar.
