JetBlue on track to reopen Terminal 5 at JFK in fall

jetblue.airtrain.jpg

Construction is well under way at JFK's Terminal 5, set to reopen in September as the new JetBlue terminal.

The expansion encompasses the '60s-era Eero Saarinen-designed TWA Terminal, which was abandoned in 2001 and was briefly in danger of demolition.

In the picture above (taken this past Thursday,) you can see the future extension to the AirTrain, with the wing-like TWA terminal in the background. For a look inside, see the pictures Jaunted took during a hard-hat tour inside the terminal earier this month.

And compare those with Curbed's sneak-peak of the terminal in September 2007.
