DeNiro's Greenwich Hotel taking reservations for April
Greenwich Hotel, the much-anticipated Tribeca hotel owned in part by actor Robert DeNiro, now has a bare bones website and it's accepting reservations.
Reservations are available only April 1 through 20, and then from May 5 onward. All rooms listed thus far are for $725 a night. (The odd dates may be explained by the fact that the DeNiro-fueled Tribeca Film Festival is scheduled for April 23 to May 4 for 2008.)
That $725 rate is also what you'll get at MetroTravelGuide.com, which has a slew of details about the Greenwich Hotel rooms. It boasts 75 rooms and 13 suites -- "no two identical" -- with amenities such as Tibetan silk rugs, Moroccan tile, Siberian oak floors, Dux beds, soaking tubs, free Internet, ipod docks, organic bath products from McBride Beauty. Courtyard rooms start at 325 square feet while the fireplace corner suite takes up 896 feet. Details for the penthouse and atelier suite are not online.
The "drawing room" with its fireplace and French doors, also according to the listing at MetroTravelGuide.com, will be available only to "hotel guests and their friends."
Its Shibui Spa will be exclusive to hotel guests, along with its "lantern-lit swimming pool."
The restaurant, Ago, looks to open first, according to pictures posted at Eater in December. Its ceiling wil be lined with "over 90,000 corks a nod to the restaurants extensive wine list," according to the listing at HotelLocators.com.
Hotels.com also has a listing for the property, but no available rooms, even for April.
The eight-story Greenwich Hotel is located at 377 Greenwich St., map.
