Broadway upcoming: 'Shrek,' Will Ferrell, Clay Aiken
"Shrek the Musical" will lumber onto Broadway in November, Playbill reports -- and it's official website is now live.
MTV will cast the new "Elle" for "Legally Blonde: The Musical" via its own reality show, reports Playbill.
"Legally Blonde" is also among the Broadway theaters with its own VIP room and package now - because really, $100 isn't enough for a ticket. Doesn't $176.50 sound better? (NewYorkology mentioned the "Young Frankenstein" VIP room in October, but didn't realize it was a trend in the making.)
Clay Aiken tonight takes over the role of Sir Robin in "Monty Python's Spamalot." Writer Eric Idle has added a few new bits of music and jokes for Aiken, according to the Daily News.
Sarah Jessica Parker is "seriously considering" accepting a role in the upcoming comedy "Boeing-Boeing," the Post notes.
"Saturday Night Live"-alum Will Ferrell hopes to bring his in-the-works autobiographical, nearly one-man show to Broadway in the fall, according to the Post.
Cindy Adams says Ferrell's not alone. Others shopping around one-man-type shows include Rosie O'Donnell, Joan Rivers, Val Kilmer and Tovah Feldshuh.
Julie White, she of the Tony Award for "The Little Dog Laughed" (beating out the likes of Angela Lansbury and Vanessa Redgrave,) will return to the NY stage in the premiere production of Liz Flahive's "From Up Here" at Manhattan Theatre Club starting March 27.
Patti LuPone "Gypsy" tickets are on sale -- but only to American Express cardholders so far. January 26 for the masses.
Tickets are still available to the final performances of "Rent" on June 1.
