All-business airlines plan NYC expansions - NY Times

Although upstart all-business class airline MAXJet declared bankruptcy on Christms Eve, many of its competitors are doing well and plan to expand in the NY area, according to the New York Times.

In addition, British Airways will launch a "discount start-up, developed under the code name Project Lauren," with mostly premium-class seats on January 9, with service from JFK or Newark to a European city to be named later (possibly Paris or Brussels.)

Expanded service is expected this year from Eos, Silverjet and l'Avion while Virgin Atlantic may also launch something akin to BA's new plan, according to the NY Times.

The story also notes that American Airlines late last year started flying from JFK to Stansted (near London,) directly in competion with MAXJet.
