(Updated)

mamaandbabychocolateturkies.jpgIn addition to the always-there, always-free attractions in New York City -- such as the Brooklyn Bridge, Staten Island Ferry, Central Park and Times Square -- a number of places are open on Thanksgiving Day.

Cirque du Soleil’s "Wintuk" at Madison Square Garden
Rockefeller Center’s Top of the Rock open from 8 a.m. to midnight
Empire State Building open from 8:00am to 2:00am
Liberty and Ellis island - 9:30 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.
Jewish Children’s Museum - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Rink at Rockefeller Center open from 9 a.m. to midnight
The Pond ice rink at Bryant Park - 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Wollman Rink in Central Park - 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Madame Tussauds wax museum - 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Ripley’s Believe it or Not Odditorium - 9 a.m. to 1 a.m.
Big Apple Circus
Dizzy’s Jazz Club - Ken Peplowski/Bucky Pizzarelli Quintet: The Music of Richard Rodgers, Cole Porter and Irving Berlin: We'll Take Manhattan, at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Caroline's comedy club shows at 8 and 1 0 p.m.
Beatles tribute band “Strawberry Fields” at BB Kings Blues Club
Prospect Park Turkey Trot 5M
Restaurants open Thanksgiving Day
Broadway on a special holiday schedule

Addition:

"A Muppet Thanksgiving" movie at BAM at 2, 4:30, 6:50 and 9:15 p.m.

Deletion:

Wollman Rink, Prospect Park ice skating - "Due to weather conditions which have hampered the ice making process, the opening of the Wollman Rink is delayed. Please check www.prospectpark.org and/or call (718) 287-6431 for updates on when the Rink will open for the season." (Thanksgiving morning update: The rink will remain closed today, according to the recording at the phone number listed above.)
