Surreal New Year's meal with Kahlo, Rivera, Trotsky

cremalogo.jpgCrema Restaurante will be hosting a "Frida Kahlo surrealist dinner" on New Year's Eve in honor of the Mexican artist's 100th birthday.

Included: Frida Kahlo Tequila tasting and Diego Rivera inspired punch.

As for the food from Chef Julieta Ballesteros ...

Many of the dishes will play homage to some of Frida's most famous lovers like Noguchi and Leon Trotsky. Some of the sauces will be presented with paint brushes for the guest to "paint" their meals. In an effort to bring the most authentic taste, the Chef will be traveling back to Mexico to bring back Oaxaca Mole just for this event.
There are two seatings: It's $75 per person at 7:30 p.m or $130 at the 10 p.m. (The 10 p.m. also has $80 bar seats.)

Crema is located at 111 W. 17th Street, between 6th and 7th avenues.
