Skyscraper construction debris falls in Midtown, 8 hurt

Four pedestrians and four workers were injured at a skyscraper construction site across the street from Bryant Park this afternoon when a bucket full of building materials crashed down 53 floors, taking shards of window glass with it along the way, NY1 is reporting.

The skyscraper, the Bank of America Tower, will be one of New York City's new tallest buildings when complete. It's located at the northwest corner of 42nd Street and 6th Avenue, map. (See a full description of the building on the website for its architects, Cook+Fox.)

In the picture above, taken October 6, the BofA tower is the tallest.
