Royalton (and Bar Forty Four) open after renovation

This is news -- a hotel that actually opens on time.

In this case it's the Royalton, which re-opened as scheduled on October 1 after renovations, according to the call NewYorkology just made to the hotel's front desk.

Also open, its Bar Forty Four. (Drinks only, save for breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.)

Closed since June, the hotel website says the new Royalton has been "invigorated with handcrafted African touches, graphic fabrics, original murals and the warm glow of a cast-bronze fireplace."

See HotelChatter's September sneak-peek at the new rooms. And see Eater for a September sneak-peek of the bar.

You can book a room tonight from $459. The Royalton is located at 44 W. 44th St.
