Murder apropos: 'You always wanted' at Hotel Carter

Let's say you've booked a suspiciously cheap $99 room at the budget Hotel Carter and failed to note headlines about it's status as one of the dirtiest hotels in the country and last week's murder.
To the hotel's credit, even before you walk through the front doors, there's a neon sign out front that should serve as a tipoff that something's wrong: "you always wanted in Time Square for less."
It's a good bet that copy deskers at the (now former) New York Times office across the street would go out of their way not to cross paths with this sign.
And in case you were thinking the other side of the sign would make the offending grammar more sensible, keep dreaming. The other side says "A short trip from wherever you are."
Police have charged an Alabama man in last week's murder, but the 20-something-year-old female victim has not yet been identified.
The Hotel Carter is located at 250 W. 43rd St., map.
