How to get MetOpera's free Open House leftovers
All the free tickets for the MetOpera's open house and final dress rehearsal are officially sold out as of today. But any tickets that aren't picked up by 8 p.m. tonight are back up for grabs at the box office at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, a Metropolitan Opera spokeswoman told NewYorkology.
The free passes (two per person,) get you into the Thursday morning rehearsal of "Lucia Di Lammermoor," which will be performed at the opening night gala again that night (not for free) and broascast live into the Lincoln Center Plaza (free,) and onto the giant electronic screens in Times Square (free.)
A pair of tickets picked up at the box office today also came with a nice surprise: two passes to "an intermission lunch courtesy of Agnes Varis and Karl Leichtman," (the Met board members who are sponsoring the Open House.)
